Charity. The FAAP holds many events for fund-raising, as well as participates in year-round activities which benefit charities here in the US and in the Philippines. These include raising money for disaster relief programs, women's shelters, libraries, and hospitals, and helping out at local food banks, soup kitchens, and other various programs.

Kaibigan, meaning "friend" in Tagalog, is a Northwestern University student-run organization dedicated to promoting Filipino culture through education and exposure.

The mission of this organization is to create a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere for all of its members as well as the whole Loyola community, complete with the idealism of promoting, educating and enriching with the culture, traditions and heritage of the Philippines.

Kundiman is the classic form of Filipino love song—or so it seemed to colonialist forces in the Philippines. In fact, in Kundiman, the singer who expresses undying love for his beloved is actually singing for love of country. As an organization dedicated to providing a nurturing space for Asian American poets, we find in this name inspiration to create and support poetic expression.

PASCO was organized in the winter of 1973 by several Filipino and American families. Most of the members are Filipinos; but the membership, being open to all, actually includes all kinds of individuals. Of the 89 members families, 20 are Americans, 2 are Indians, 3 are Filipino-Chinese and the rest are Filipinos.

Kilusan [Cultural Dance Troupe] Kilusan was formed in the fall of 2006 by the Philippine Student Association, founded by Jolien Genus, cultural chair of PSA. The co-founders who helped bring Kilusan to the Northern Illinois University were freshmen KayeLani Acoba and Brittany Santillan. Together they recruited dancers to perform at school events within the Asian American Community.

Each summer the University of Wisconsin-Madison hosts the Southeast Asian Studies Summer Institute (SEASSI), which offers courses in a wide variety of Southeast Asian languages, including Filipino. The language courses are quite intensive - two terms worth of credit in one summer, so it's a great way to learn Filipino very quickly.
